Inches Lost – 20 days

So I’ve been keeping track of my inches as well as my weight. I started taking my measurement in inches 20 days ago and thought I’d post the changes today. I figure 20 days is long enough to see a difference (even if it’s a small difference):

Wrist= down 1/4 an inch

Forearm= down 1/4Β  inch

Bicep= down 1/4 inch

Neck= no change

Breasts= no change (thank you GOD!)

Waist= down 2 inches (the way some of my clothes are fitting now I thought this number would be bigger)

Hips= down 1 inch

Thigh= down 1/2 inch

Calve= down 1/2 inch

Ankle= down 1/4 inch

I was hoping the inches lost would be much bigger, after all it’s been about 3 weeks. Oh well, I guess slow change is best – the better for my skin to hopefully keep up with my weight loss; I don’t want to end up with a hell of a lot of excess flabby skin like I see often with people who have had rapid weight loss. God knows I can’t afford to have it “removed” when all is said and done. lol

    sounds good to me! Keep it up! I wonder if weight training would help with the flabby skin thing. I may have to research that…

      Yeah, I hear weight training does help with the flabby skin problem. That’s a good thing for me since weight training is part of my daily work out. πŸ™‚ I’m really hoping that when all is said and done my skin keeps up with me and doesn’t go all saggy and wobbly. lol That’s why I’m trying for 2 lbs a week now. I guess 1-2 lbs a week is supposed to be the “healthiest” way to lose weight. Knowing that though, if I lose 2 lbs a week it will take me nearly 2 1/2 years to lose all that I need to lose. Oh well, I’m in this for the long haul. heh

    Keep up the good work!

    Flabby skin: Weightlifting and running and/or walking will help in making sure the skin stretches back with rapid weight loss. Most important of all, water. If you do not consume half your weight in water on daily bases – regardless of exercise – the skin can not stretch back fast enough to counter weight loss.

      Umm If I drank half my weight in water on a daily bases it would cause me to die. You can get Hyponatremia. People have died from drinking too much water, like in 2007, a 28-year-old California woman died after competing in a radio station’s on-air water-drinking contest. Jennifer Strange vomited, went home with a splitting headache, and died from water intoxication. This is not an isolated case either.
      I DO drink lots of water, 64 ounces a day, but if I drank half my weight in water it would literally kill me.

        I have been drinking half my weight in water for 46 days, not dead yet. I know several people that’s been doing it for much longer then that.

        Only way any person can die from drinking water is if they consume large amount in short period such as the case with the woman you mentioned and other cases.

        You are drinking almost 2 liters a day, I’m drinking almost 5 liters over 14 hours period.

      Oh I just did the math and found out that if I drank half my weight in water a day it would be around 23 gallons of water a day. I’m pretty sure that would be bad for anyone to drink that much. lol (8.3454 pounds per U.S. gallon)

        I did not explain it correctly.

        When I say half your weight in water, I meant half your weight in “ounces of water.”

        If you weight 400 lbs, your body needs 200 ounces (not lbs) of water.

        In other words, all you have to drink on daily bases is 6 liters of water.

        23 gallons of water is 87 liters, I can see why you thought I was nuts.

        Read my latest post, I broke down my water intake, it will explain it better.

        Ohhh Ok, I understand now. LOL That makes more sense. πŸ™‚ 6 liters of water…that doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll try it. Thank you for the advice, hon! *hugs*

      Yeah, exactly. Everything in moderation – there can always be too much of a good thing. πŸ™‚ You’re starting your journey tomorrow? That’s wonderful! I look forward to seeing your progress!

    That’s some great inches lost! you’re doing awesome! I do a bootcamp with a trainer twice a week and she also said the drink half your weight in oz of water a day thing. I’ve been doing it (or as close to it as I can get) for a couple of weeks now. Be warned, the first week I did it I GAINED 3lbs and freaked out, but it’s water weight because your body is absorbing all the wayer because it was not getting enough before so it’s dehydrated. This past week I lost that 3lbs again because I think my body caught up on water consumption. Once it catches up, the water helps with weight loss (also with feeling full).

      Awesome! Good advice, thanks, Clare! πŸ˜€ I’ve been drinking a ton of water but if I have to drink half my weight in water in oz then I think I’m in trouble. I have no idea how I’m going to be able to drink that much. lol I guess I’ll just set up camp and live in the bathroom. heheh
